FSSAI का Everest Cumin Powder पर बड़ा Action, Pesticide Residues मिलने के बाद Batch वापस

रसोई में रोज इस्तेमाल होने वाला जीरा पाउडर अब Food Safety and Standards Authority of India यानी FSSAI की कार्रवाई के केंद्र में है। FSSAI Everest Cumin Powder recall मामले में regulator ने Everest के pre-packed cumin powder के एक batch को बाजार से तत्काल वापस लेने का निर्देश दिया है। जांच में दो pesticide residues निर्धारित अधिकतम सीमा से ऊपर पाए गए, जिसके बाद sample को “UNSAFE” घोषित किया गया। इसी के साथ FSSAI ने एक अलग मामले में eastern India में कई outlets चलाने वाली The Sugarr & Spice की operator company Creative Bakers and Confectioners Pvt Ltd का licence भी तत्काल प्रभाव से suspend कर दिया है। यहां जांच के दौरान hygiene, sanitation, pest control और food-safety documentation से जुड़ी कई गंभीर कमियां मिलीं।

Everest Cumin Powder में ऐसा क्या मिला कि FSSAI ने Recall का आदेश दिया?

FSSAI के अनुसार, Goa स्थित Riverside Resorts & Holiday Homes Pvt. Ltd. के premises से pre-packed cumin powder का regulatory sample लिया गया था। Food Analyst की जांच में Azoxystrobin और Thiamethoxam नाम के pesticide residues निर्धारित maximum limits से अधिक पाए गए। इसी आधार पर Food Analyst ने sample को Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 के तहत UNSAFE घोषित किया। इसके बाद food business operator को findings के खिलाफ appeal करने का अवसर दिया गया।

मामले की अगली जांच के लिए sample को Referral Food Laboratory भेजा गया। वहां भी दोनों pesticide residues permissible limits से ऊपर पाए गए और sample को फिर से “UNSAFE” घोषित किया गया। यानी शुरुआती laboratory finding की बाद की जांच में भी पुष्टि हुई। रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक प्रभावित product का Batch No. E080668761 है। FSSAI ने इसी implicated batch को तत्काल बाजार से recall करने का निर्देश दिया है।

FSSAI ने Everest को क्या निर्देश दिए?

FSSAI की कार्रवाई सिर्फ product को बाजार से हटाने तक सीमित नहीं है। Everest Food Products को कई compliance steps पूरे करने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं-

• प्रभावित batch को तुरंत market से वापस लेने को कहा गया है।
• Recall किए गए products का पूरा record बनाए रखने का निर्देश है।
• Recall की प्रक्रिया और उसकी स्थिति से संबंधित reports निर्धारित समयसीमा में जमा करनी होंगी।
• कंपनी को ऐसी corrective measures लेने होंगे, जिससे भविष्य में इस तरह की समस्या दोबारा न हो।
• Recall process पूरा होने के बाद संबंधित report भी submit करनी होगी।

Everest के मामले से अलग, FSSAI ने Creative Bakers and Confectioners Pvt Ltd के खिलाफ भी तत्काल कार्रवाई की है। यह कंपनी eastern India में The Sugarr & Spice नाम से कई retail outlets संचालित करती है। निरीक्षण के दौरान food production और handling areas में कई गंभीर hygiene और sanitation deficiencies सामने आईं। FSSAI के अनुसार वहां dirt, grease, dust, cobwebs और flies जैसी समस्याएं मिलीं। इसके अलावा-

• Perishable raw materials को खुले में रखा गया था।
• Raw और semi-finished products के लिए rusted और पर्याप्त रूप से साफ न किए गए containers इस्तेमाल किए जा रहे थे।
• Pest infestation गंभीर स्तर पर पाया गया।
• Fly-control व्यवस्था प्रभावी नहीं थी।
• Rodent control पर्याप्त नहीं पाया गया।
• कई openings और windows पर insect-proof mesh नहीं था।
• Food-handling areas में waste, old stock, rejected lots और scrap जमा था।
• कुछ equipment में rusting की समस्या थी।
• Paint उखड़ रहा था और premises में dampness भी मिली।
• कुछ floor tiles टूटी हुई थीं।

Food Safety Records में भी मिली बड़ी कमियां

FSSAI ने केवल physical cleanliness पर ही सवाल नहीं उठाया, बल्कि food safety management और documentation में भी deficiencies पाईं। Regulator के अनुसार water और finished-product testing, time-temperature monitoring, calibration, preventive maintenance, mock recall, consumer complaints, straining और audit से जुड़े records ठीक से maintain नहीं किए जा रहे थे। इन कमियों को देखते हुए Creative Bakers and Confectioners का FSSAI licence immediate effect से suspend कर दिया गया और suspension की अवधि में company को सभी food business activities बंद करने का निर्देश दिया गया।

Consumers के लिए इसका क्या मतलब है?
